Mizzou eThemes & 3-D shapes

As some of you may know I am a recent graduate of the University of Missouri- Columbia...better known as Mizzou (And we are now in the SEC..weird).. so anyways the Mizzou college of EDU host a great "kid safe" website to find learning/teaching resources.

This website is called eThemes and can be found by clicking here

It is updated weekly and is "your source for content-rich, kid-safe online resources". Resources are divided by grade level and you can even submit a request if you are having trouble finding something. I would for sure check it out when you have some free time.

I would love to know if anyone ends up using it:)

Have a great Monday! I can't wait to get finished with tutoring at 4:15 and work out... this is why....

Second graders made these little beauties last week in math. How fun? And yummy if you have leftovers:)

Thanksgiving trees

Each hand had a sentence of what each child was thankful for. When you read the hands in order they create a paragraph! Presh!

Currently wantin' and lovin'

Does anyone have own any of the National Geographic Readers Series Books? Like the ones found here? I'm currently obsessed with these and so are my students.

A few that I would love to have...

Perhaps Santa will bring me some?? Maybe?

What are other non-fiction series that you use in your room?

light bulb moments...

One of my students just rounded 42 to 40 and 38 to 40. Then added them together and got 80. I almost cried. No joke. I want to scream. We hugged. It is going to be a glorious day.

Has anyone else had any of these moments this week?

I just want to dance.

Happy Hump Day!

Pinterest Thanksgiving Trees!

Today my little skittles have been wild monkeys. Like jumping off the walls. Could be the weather?? Hummm...

We started this wonderful project today that I think came from Pinterest. I found it at the blog below (that I religiously follow btw)

I also stole this picture off her page!

I was amazed by some of the great things my kids came up with. We used this outline and are going to copy our sentences onto our hands tomorrow! Can't wait:)

Christmas List & Silly Sentence Freebie!

I've been hit with the holiday bug... already getting our class wish list together to send home with parents before Thanksgiving Break.
What is everyone asking for? Here is my list so far!

1. Dry erase markers
2. Wal-mart gift cards
3. pencils
4. Clorox wipes or something comparable
5. hand sanitizer
6. Any 3-5th grade level reading books
7. eraser pencil toppers

I know there are things that I need that I'm not thinking of....

I saw this center idea online about writing spelling words in sentences. I created an easy printable to use

If you haven't seen this before here is an example for the spelling word "airplane": Alice's airplane accidentally asked me for the answer. You try to use "a" sound as much as possible and obviously this makes no sense.

Happy Monday!

Dollar Tree joys!

How colorful are these plastic containers that I am using for centers? They hold everything! I rotate into four groups. They are from dollar tree. I can't wait to go back and grab a couple more.

What do you use?

Friendly Letters EDIT

Please note I can not take credit for this song! I found it randomly on the internet.

How stinking cute is this song to remember the 5 parts of the letter? I'll make it into an anchor chart in the next couple days when I'm on my home computer.. I don't have access to cutsie fonts here at school:(
