*DOES ANYONE HAVE WORKSHEETS TO GO ALONG WITH THIS CONCEPT??* (HELP!)
Well to start off it is almost Christmas Break! 4 more days of school left up here in North East Missouri! w00t w00t.. and how precious is our little Christmas Tree? At my school we are able to celebrate Christmas and call it Christmas and it is wonderful.. (AND HOW THE WORLD SHOULD BE)
Now on to some business...
Bless their hearts, some of my little lovelies have no number sense what so ever. The visual image for a number just does not exist. It is like the number is just a number "7". Not 1+1+1+1+1+1+1... It is a daily struggle for some of my kids and I feel like they are going to be left in the dust.
Another third grade teacher in my building found this awesome regrouping website that serves as a visual aid. You can plug in ANY number you want. Amazing? YES!
First you create your problem, then pull over a "group of ten" to "regroup" into your "ones"
(see how the picture changes??)
It is a great resource for ANY child stuggling with regrouping and can work for basically any grade level considering you can do it with numbers as low as one---up to thousands.
Check it out HERE. It is put on by the Utah State University.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday! I know I am!
