So I'm revamping my resume this week! I'm super excited about it and actually got a lot done today on my break! I'm wondering should I include my blog on my resume? What are your opinions on it. I'd love to know what others think!
Tomorrow is already WEDNESDAY!? CRAZY!
As a recent college graduate I have spent HOURS upon HOURS making my resume and cover letter perfect. The Mizzou College of Education has a great website to help- right here.
Also found this one that has great action verbs!

I've been working on my resume also (my school is closing at the end of the year) and I was wondering the same thing about my blog! I have so many of my ideas posted...I wonder if it would help!

I would say that yes it would be completely appropriate to list your blog on your resume, especially since you use your blog to share and collaborate with other educators . . . but that's just my opinion.
I think it may depend on where you are applying. A district, with little technology use may not understand how great a blog can be for learning as a teacher. Where a school district that uses more technology would appreciate that. Research the district as much as possible to figure it out ahead of time. Hopefully you are not being eliminated due to budget! Also, since I am an MO teacher, you may want to have your current principal do a review for your credential file. (I hope you guys still do these.) That way the file is the most up to date. When I did this, my principal didn't support me leaving so I just asked for it to update my file to evaluate my "real" teaching and not just student teaching, and I mentioned that I was pursuing other employment months after, once I had been scheduled for an interview.
Wow that comment was long!

Thanks for sharing the wonderful resources!
Thank you for sharing your opinions!
Thanks for sharing that link!! I've done a resume but am still perfecting it for the upcoming job search! I think it would be great to put the blog on your resume since it's teaching-related, a virtual portfolio per se!
Hi Courtney, I tripped onto your blog today and even though this post seems to be older, I wanted to chime in.
I've worked as a recruiter for the last 4 years so I know a thing or two about resumes. I have my own blog about resume no-no's which can be viewed here: http://www.resumeroasts.blogspot.com/
I also have my own resume company where I've helped hundreds of happy clients. http://artisancustomresumes.com/
That being said, the short answer to the question you posed is this: since you don't appear to be overly snarky and obnoxious like I can be on my resumeroasts blog, then by all means, yes, include your blog listing on your resume.
And please let me know if you need any help!
Best wishes with your job search,
Stephanie
