( I wrote this on Monday but didn't finish it until today and I know the tutorials for these are common..but hey-I've never seen a rainbow one before:)
So today I caught a working bug and headed to my classroom to get some organization done. Although I did promise my principal I wouldn't work during July it is hard when you are excited to get in your new room (even if it is half the size as your old one).
So for my niece's babyshower last week I made some tissue paper puffs fluffs whatever ya wanna call 'em. While cleaning out my new room today I found a pack of "bleeding art tissue" paper. That means 20 pieces of tissue in 20 different colors. Pretty fun rightttt?
And about 10 minutes later (if that) I ended up with this:
Lovin' all the bright colors in one package...
So first you lay 10-12 sheets out flat. I did 12 but next time I am only going to use 10.
Then you start to fold up like a fan, back and forth back and forth
One you have it completely folded back and forth you have to wrap a pipe cleaner around the middle to put it into halves.. You will see how it works in the pictures below but I didn't take a picture of this step. Sorry!
Next cut the edges into a "round" shape
Should look something like this but probably nicer. I'm not a perfectionist on folding my paper accordian style and it doesn't have to be perfect
See how the pipe cleaner is in the middle? Now for the puffing part.
Hold it up right and pull down one layer at a time. Can't mess it up really.
I did one on one side then one on the other
Should look like this when you are done with the first half. Flip it over and do the other side!
Then fix them however which way you would like them so there are no big spaces inbetween layers and you are finished! I love love love the rainbow colors. I can't wait to hang them up!
I don't think the picture really does justice of how pretty they are. The colors are so vibrant.
You can see what brand of tissue paper I used HERE!
Only a few days late:)
Have a wonderful forth! I'm off for a run then a shellac manicure before a BBQ tonight! w00t w00t!
